Your Safari
We became involved in tourism because of a great concern over conservation. Ultimately, wildlife and wilderness must “pay its way”, and one of the most productive mechanisms for this is tourism.
Where there are economic benefits to people and communities, then there is (one hopes) conservation of wildlife.
For you, as a traveler, among the greatest contributors to both is thoughtful, intelligent, and conscientious travel choices. This objective will be at the core of our safari design for you.
Where to start:
We begin with a free consultation to get the brief of what you are seeking in your adventure. What’s important, not important, what is your travel style, budget, pace and many other factors.
Many of our destinations are considered, “once in a lifetime” or “bucket list” trips. We share our knowledge and love of these places with those seeking to have that “dream trip”. This larger-than-life quality of these destinations makes travel planning quite a responsibility, but we also aim to expand your view to consider less-visited places and times of year to expand beyond the mainstream.
We are intuitive travel designers who listen first. It is a collaborative process, but not one that is meant to be stressful. There are no wrong answers. We design for what we hear to be your priorities and the subtleties that we hear in this first conversation. Those range, for example, from a particular animal or place to a scene or a cultural interaction or budget or season. This is all considered, plus the addition of our suggestions.
Be it your first or your fifteenth safari, our very strong knowledge of the latest and best in our destinations allows us to always bring you something new and different.
Design & Confirmation Process:
Once we have our initial call, we begin the collaborative design and proposal process. During this process, we can hold preliminary reservations for about 7-10 days after which point, we must confirm or release the held space.
For confirmation, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required. After that commitment, we will send you all the planning and preparation materials to start to get ready and excited for your adventure.
Airline Reservations:
Under our guidance, you purchase your airline tickets. These include the start and finish of your safari, occasionally, an in between flight or two. You are welcome to book directly with your airline of choice and utilizing your cache of miles / points, or alternatively, for a small service fee, we can recommend our preferred ticketing agent for the flights.
However, please do not ticket your flights without our review and approval.
Final Documents:
Your final balance is paid no later than 90 days prior to departure, this can be made on your credit card or by bank wire if you choose. At this point, we schedule a pre-departure orientation to review all questions you may have and issue your final documents. This answers all of the “who/when/where” questions so you know exactly what to expect when you de-plane at your initial destination along with everything you need to know along the way, including how to tip your staff, guides, etc.
Of course, between deposit and departure we are always at your disposal.
You’re off!
Pack your bags, passport and gear and get ready for a truly life altering experience!
